A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, FINAL COUNTY, ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, OFFICE OF
HIGHWAY SAFETY, FOR FUNDING OF STREET NAME AND OTHER
STREET SIGNS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Office of Highway Safety will consider the
request of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction for the
funding of street name and other street signs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes it to be in the best interest
of the City to provide these signs as a means of assistance and convenience
for our citizens and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this request for assistance is for improved
traffic flow, improved safety within the community and improved police and
fire protection; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the preservation of the peace, health
and safety 6f the City of Apache Junction, Arizona, an emergency is declared
to exist and this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE AND HEREBY IS AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS WHICH MAY BE NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT
SAID AGREEMENT:
