HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 80-12RESOLUTION NO. 80-12 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, PINAL COUNTY, ARIZONA AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA TO ENTER INTO A VEHICLE LOAN AGREEMENT WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO PROVIDE FOR LOAN VEHICLES ON A ROTATIONAL BASIS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of Apache Junction, a municipal corporation, must begin to provide full-time police services to the City and its residents on or before May 1, 1980; WHEREAS, the Arizona Department of Public Safety is capable of providing loan vehicle services to the Department of Public Safety, City of Apache Junction; WHEREAS, the City is desirous of obtaining loan vehicles on a rotational basis for law enforcement purposes and the Arizona Department of Public Safety is desirous of providing said services and equipment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Department of Public Safety of Apache Junction, Arizona, be and he is authorized and directed to enter into an agreement entitled Vehicle Loan Agreement between the Department of Public Safety of the City of Apache Junction and the Arizona Department of Public Safety for the aforementioned loan vehicles. FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Public Safety of the City of Apache Junction, Arizona be and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute any documents which may be necessary to implement said agreement. WHEREAS, the immediate operation of the provisions of this resolution is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and general welfare, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this resolution shall be in full force and effect from, and after its passage, by the City Council as required by the City Council.
