A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,COUNTY OF PINAL,AUTHORIZING THE HOLDING
OF THE REGULAR PRIMARY ELECTION ON MARCH 24,1981,AND
THE GENERAL ELECTION ON MAY 19,1981;ESTABLISHING POLLING
PLACES AND VOTING DISTRICTS,PROVIDING FOR THE RECORDATION
OF THE ELECTOR'S CHOICE;PROVIDING FOR ELECTION OFFICIALS
AND FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION.
WHEREAS,i t i s provided by law for the holding of a Primary and
General Election;and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City
of Apache Junction,as follows:
Section 1 Designation of Election Date
That the City Primary Election be held and conducted on Tuesday,
March 24,1981 and that the City General Election be held and conducted on
May 19,1981.
Section 2 Polling Places and Voting Districts
That County precincts will be used and that voters residing i n
Pinal County Precinct 22A and Maricopa County Precinct Apache shall vote at
City Hall,1001 North Idaho Road,and voters residing i n Pinal Precinct 22B
shall vote at Superstition Mountain School at Ironwood and Broadway.
The polls shall be open on said date of Primary and General Elections
from 6:00 a.m.until 7:00 p.m.
Section 3 Election Officials and Their Compensation
The following officers will be appointed to conduct the Primary
Election on Tuesday,March 24,1981,and General Election on May 19,1981 for
Pinal County voting precinct 22A,Maricopa County voting precinct Apache:
One Inspector
Two Judges
Two Clerks
And the following officers will be appointed to conduct the Primary
Election on Tuesday,March 24,1981,and General Election on May 19,1981 for
Pinal County voting precinct 22B:
One Inspector
Two Judges
Two Clerks
The compensation of each of the officers i s fixed at the sum of
$3.35 per hour for the election;provided that a minimum of $30.00 per day
must be paid to each such officer.If any member should fail to appear and
serve,the City Clerk shall appoint a qualified substitute.
Section 4 Recordation of the Elector's Choice
Voting shall be by paper ballots.The City Clerk i s hereby authorized
and directed to cause the printing of paper ballots as set forth i n Title 16,
of the Arizona Revised Statutes.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Apache Junction,Arizona this seventh day of January ,1981

CIUDAD DE APACHE JUNCTION,CONDADO DE PINAL,AUTORIZANDO
LA CELEBRACIA DE ELECCIONES REGULARES PRIMARIAS EL ,plIA
24 DE MARZO DE 1981,Y DE ELECCIONES GENERALES EL DIA
19 DE MAYO DE 1981;ESTABLECIENDO LOS LUGARES PARA VOTAR Y
LOS DISTRITOS ELECTORALES;DANDO A CONOCER LA FORMA EN
QUE LOS VOTANTES DARKN SUS VOTOS;NOMBRANDO A LOS
FUNCIONARIOS ENCARGADOS DE LAS ELECCIONES Y FIJANDO EL
SUELDO DE LOS MISMOS;Y DECLARANDO UNA EMERGENCIA.
POR CUANTO;ha sido establecida por la ley l a celebracidn de
Elecciones Primarias y Generales;y
POR TANTO HA SIDO DISPUESTO por la Alcalde y los Concejales de
l a Ciudad de Apache Junction,l o siguiente;
Seccidn 1:Designacidn del dia de las elecciones
Que las Elecciones Primarias de la Ciudad se celebren martes,
el dfa 24 de marzo de 1981,y que las Elecciones Generales de l a
Ciudad se celebren el dia 19 de mayo de 1981.
Seccidn 2:Lugares donde se puede votar y distritos electorales
Que los Distritos Electorales del Condado se utilizen y que
los votantes que residen en el Distrito Electoral 22A del Condado de
Pinal y los que residen en el Distrito Electoral Apache del Condado
de Maricopa votarSn en el Ayuntamiento,1001 North Idaho Road,y que
los votantesi que residen en el Distrito Electoral 22 B del Condado de
Pinal votaran en la escuela de Superstition Mountain que estS al cruce
de Ironwood y Broadway.
Los lugares donde se puede votar estara'.n abiertos los dfas
sefialados para las Elecciones Primarias y Generales desde las 6:00 a.m.
hasta las 7:00 p.m.
SecciOn 3:Nombramiento de los funcionarios encargados de las
elecciones y el sueldo de los mismos
Par media de la presente se nombran a los si9p ientes funcionarios
para conducir las Elecciones Primarias que se celebraran e,1 martes 24 de
marzo de 1981,y las Elecciones Generales que se celebraran el 19 de mayo
de 1981,para los distritos electorales 22A del Condado de Pinal y Apache del
Condado de Maricopa:
Un inspector
Dos jueces
Dos secretarios
Y por media de l a presente se nombran a los s,iguientes funcionarios
para conducir las Elecciones Primarias que se celebraran el martes 24 de marzo
de 1981,y las Elecciones Generales que se celebraran el 19 de mayo de 1981,
para el Distrito Electoral 226 del Condado de Pinal:
Un inspector
Dos jueces
Dos secretarios
El sueldo de cada uno de estos funcionarios sera'de,$3.25 la,hora
por las elecciones;se establece que un mfnimo de $30.00 el dia debera ser
pagado a cada uno de los funcionarios.Si alguno de ellos no comparece a
desempeiTar su trabajo,la Secretaria Municipal nombrara

cal ificado.
SecciOn 4:Forma el que los votantes dar4n su voto
La votacion se hara por medio de boletas de papel.Por medio de
l a presepte,l a Secretaria Municipal queda autorizada para ordenar l a
impresion de las boletas de acuerdo con l a forma fijada en el Tftulo 16,
de los Estatutos Revisados del Estado de Arizona.
SecciOn 5:Declarando una emergencia
POR CUANTO,l a inmediata aplicaciOn de las provisiones de esta
resolucion es necesaria para el mantenimiento de la paz pUb lica y para
el bienestar de l a Ciudad de Apache Junction,por medio,de la,presente se
declara quepxiste una emergencia;y que esta r.,esolucion sera cumplida y
se mantendra)en vigor desde el momenta y despues de su aprobaciOn,adopcion
y autorizacion por l a Alcalde y los Concpjales de l a Ciudad de Apache Juncttpn,
quedando exempta de las normas de referendum establecidas por l a Constitucion
y las leyes del Estado de Arizona.

Apache Junction,Arizona,el dla stete de Enero de 1981.
