A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,OPPOSING THE ACTION OF THE
ARIZONA LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ADVISORY COUNCIL
REGARDING PER DIEM.
WHEREAS,the Arizona Law Enforcement Officers Advisory,Coundil
at their meeting of June 11,1981 took action to restrict per diem
reimbursement:
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Counil
of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona does not support the decision
made at the Arizona Law Enforcement Officers Advisory Council budget
meeting on June 11,1981,which denies per diem reimbursement to
students attending academies other than Arizona Law Enforcement
Training Academy. and Phoenix Pollee Academy,unless these academies
are full.We feel that this compounds an existing problem by
further restricting available sources of training to the smaller
departments that operate on a minimum budget with minimum manpower.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be,and hereby is,
instructed to mail a certified copy of this resolution to pertinent
law enforcement agencies and Central Arizona College.
PASSED BY THE Council and approved by the Mayor this 5th day of
August ,1981.
