A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,ESTABLISHING AN AREA
WITHIN THE CITY COMPLEX TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE VETERANS'
MEMORIAL PARK.
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,hereinafter
referred to as "CITY",and the Veterans'Memorial Park Committee,
hereinafter referred to as "COMMITTEE",have held numerous meetings,
discussions and negotiations with regard to a proposed park projects;
and
WHEREAS,the COMMITTEE,a group of local veterans,representing
the following organizations,DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS -CHAPTER 30,
AMERICAN LEGION -POST 27,VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS -POST 9399 and
AMERICAN VETERANS -POST NO.2,desire to construct certain improvements
for the general welfare of the community of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,upon property presently leased by the CITY;and
WHEREAS,the CITY i s desirous of setting aside a certain portion
of the City Complex area,more specifically described and delineated
in Annex "A"attached hereto,for the common welfare and pleasure of
the CITY.
THEREFORE NOW BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,designate the area as indicated on Annex
"A"attached hereto as the Veterans'Memorial Park.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Apache Junction,Arizona,this 16thday of February ,1982.
