A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,PROCLAIMING INTENT OF THE
ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF A CITY AIRPORT.
WHEREAS,i t i s i n the public interest to develop a city airport
for purposes of enhancing economic development and transportation within
the greater Apache Junction area;and
WHEREAS,a Site Selection and Master Plan Study was authorized
and has been completed through a grant from the Arizona Department of
Transportation;and
WHEREAS,airspace approval has been received from the Federal
Avaition Administration;and
WHEREAS,the Airport Commission has coordinated the study effort
and recommends proceeding with the project,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council that
the City Council of the City of Apache Junction hereby proclaims its intent
to establish and develop a city airport in conjunction with the Master
Plan Study.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorize the Airport
Commission to continue i n its endeavor to create said airport by coordinating
all aspects of development.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 2ND DAY OF MARCH ,1982,
BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA.
