A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,FINDING THAT 1970 U.S.
CENSUS BUREAU DESIGNATED ENUMERATION DISTRICTS ED -1,
ED -2,ED -3,AND ED -4 ARE DECLARED TO BE THE TARGET
AREA FOR THE 1982-83 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS,the 1970 U.S.Census Bureau Designated Enumeration
Districts ED -1,ED -2,ED -3,and ED -4 are within the city limits
of the city of Apache Junction,Arizona;and
WHEREAS,by a field inventory there has been identified a
substantial lack of fire hydrants in the above -referenced
enumeration districts;and
WHEREAS,by definition in ARS 36-1471,an area may be
designated a "target area"when there is the existence of con-
ditions which endanger life or property by fire and other causes,
or any combination of such factors,and which substantially
impair or arrest the sound growth of a municipality,and which
retard the provision of housing accommodations or constitute
an economic or social liability and are a menace to the public
health,safety,morals,and welfare in its present condition
and use;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,do hereby find that the
1970 U.S.Census Bureau Designated Enumeration Districts ED -1,ED -2,
ED -3,and ED -4 meet the criteria of ARS 36-1471 to be designated a
"target area"for purposes of the 1982-83 Community Development
Block Grant Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Apache Junction City Council
does hereby designate the above -referenced enumeration districts
as the target area for the 1982-83 Community Development Block
Grant Program.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,this 1st day of June ,1932.
