A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL COUNTY,ARIZONA,INDICATING
THE INTENT OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,TO
AUTHORIZE THE APACHE JUNCTION POLICE DEPARTMENT,
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY,TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE GOVERNORS OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY TO OBTAIN
FUNDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO RADAR UNITS WITH
APPLICABLE ACCESSORIES IN AN EFFORT TO REDUCE SPEEDING
AND SPEED RELATED ACCIDENTS IN AREAS OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA.
WHEREAS,the Governors Office of Highway Safety has notified the
Apache Junction Police Department,Department of Public Safety,of funding
available to purchase two Radar Units i n FY -1984;and
WHEREAS,the City Council believes i t to be i n the best interest of
the City to obtain these Radar Units to impact Speeding and Speed related
accidents;and
WHEREAS,the purpose of this resolution i s to show the intent of
the City of Apache Junction to enter into an agreement to obtain Radar
Units to impact an existing traffic problem;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Apache Junction,Arizona that the Director of Public Safety i s hereby
authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the Governors Office
of Highway Safety to obtain funding to purchase two Radar Units with applicable
accessories,such funding to be of an amount not to exceed $4,762.00:

JUNCTION,ARIZONA,ON THIS 18TH DAY OF OCTOBER ,1983.
