A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,
CONDUCTING AND ACCEPTING THE OFFICIAL CANVASS OF VOTES
FOR THE CITY PRIMARY ELECTION HELD MARCH 22,1983.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THAT:
WHEREAS,the Primary Election for the nomination of City Councilmembers
for Apache Junction was held on March 22,1983;and
WHEREAS,in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes 16-642,a Special
Meeting of the City Council was held on March 28,1983,for the purpose of
canvassing the returns of said election;and
WHEREAS,the City Council did canvass the election returns at said
Special Meeting and did determine the official results of the election to be
as follows:
1.The number of ballots cast in Precinct 22A/22B/Maricopa:675
The number of ballots cast in Precinct 22C:414
The number of ballots cast in Precinct 22D/22E:433
The number of absentee ballots cast in Precincts 22A/22B/Maricopa,
Precinct 22C and Precinct 22D/22E:60
2.The number of ballots rejected in Precinct 22A/22B/Maricopa:3
The number of ballots rejected in Precinct 22C:3
The number of ballots rejected in Precinct 22D/22E:5
The number of absentee ballots rejected in Precincts 22A/22B/Maricopa,
Precinct 22C and Precinct 22D/22E:2
3.The number of ballots challenged in Precinct 22A/22B/Maricopa:0
The number of ballots challenged in Precinct 22C:0
The number of ballots challenged i n Precinct 22D/22E:0
The number of absentee ballots challenged in Precinct 22A/22B/Maricopa,
Precinct 22C and Precinct 22D/22E:0

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and hereby is directed
to issue Certificates of Election to Wendell J.Clarke, Thomas Damiano,Jimmy
Eidson,Norman S.Hill,Marie J.Shanks,Henry Steelsmith,and Ilene Taylor,
i n accordance with Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Apache Junction.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 28th DAY OF March ,1983,BY THE
MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA
COUNTIES,ARIZONA.
