A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,FINDING THAT 1980 U.S.CENSUS
BUREAU DESIGNATED BLOCK GROUPS 1 AND 7 ARE DECLARED TO BE
THE TARGET AREA FOR THE 1983-84 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS,the 1980 U.S.Census Bureau designated "BLOCK GROUPS"
within the City of Apache Junction,and Block Groups 1 and 7 are among
those defined Block Groups;and
WHEREAS,by a field inventory there has been identified streets
on the "City of Apache Junction,Arizona,Street Classification Plan"
designated "arterial,"major collector,"and "collector"that are located
i n Block Group 1 and 7,said roads being unpaved,but maintained;and
WHEREAS,by definition in ARS 36-1471,an area may be designated
a "target area"when there i s the existence of conditions which may endanger
life or property by fire or other causes,or any combination of such factors,
and which substantially impair or arrest the sound growth of a municipality,
and which retard the provisions of housing accomodations,or constitute
an economic or social liability,and are a menace to the public health,
safety,morals,and welfare i n its present condition and use;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,do hereby find that the 1980 U.S.Census
Bureau designated Block Groups 1 and 7 meet the criteria of ARS 36-1471 to be
designated a "target area"for purposes of the 1983-84 Community Development
Block Grant Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Apache Junction City Council does
hereby designate the above -referenced Block Groups 1 and 7 as the "target
area"for the 1983-84 Community Development Block Grant Program.

APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THIS 7TH DAY OF JUNE ,19 83
