A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,ADOPTING,IN CONCEPT,THE
DOCUMENT ENTITLED "REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE
ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES ACTION TEAM"DATED SEPTEMBER 14,
1983,AS THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT POLICY GUIDE FOR THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AND AUTHORIZING THE ECONOMIC
OPPORTUNITIES ACTION TEAM TO IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATION.
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction City Council did on March 1,1983,
create by motion the Economic Opportunities Action Team (EOAT)and appoint its
membership;and
WHEREAS,the EOAT membership does represent a representative cross/
section of the economic/business community;and
WHEREAS,the EOAT was charged with the responsibility to develop a
economic development proposal which has been presented to the City Council and
which i s referred to by this resolution;and
WHEREAS,the EOAT has carefully analyzed the community's assets,
liabilities and opportunities and has developed recommendations therefrom after
careful study;and
WHEREAS,the EOAT recognizes i n its report that other work must be
done to further foster the possibility of promoting economic development;and
WHEREAS,economic development could mean jobs for the community's
citizens and an increase i n the tax base thereby reducing the individual tax
burden by Pinal County,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Apache Junction,Arizona,that the document entitled "Report and
Recommendations of the Economic Opportunities Action Team"dated September 14,
1983,i s hereby adopted and approved as the Economic Development Policy Guide
for the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,and authorizing the Economic Opportunities
Action Team to implement the program recommendations.

JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THIS 20TH DAY OF DECEMBER ,1983.
