A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT TO THE ARIZONA STATE LAND
DEPARTMENT AN "APPLICATION FOR DESIGNATION AND
RECLASSIFICATION OF STATE LANDS AS SUITABLE FOR URBAN
PLANNING"FOR STATE TRUST LANDS IN THE APACHE JUNCTION
AREA.
WHEREAS,the State of Arizona i s a major landholder in the
Apache Junction area;and
WHEREAS,there are insufficient large tracts of private land
to satisfy the potential demand for commercial,industrial,and
residential development;and
WHEREAS,these State Lands should be made available for private
development in accordance with an orderly plan for development;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,that the City Manager i s authorized
and directed to submit to the Arizona State Land Department an "Application
for Designation and Reclassification of State Lands. as Suitable for Urban
Planning"for State Lands in the Apache Junction area.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THIS 18TH DAY OF DECEMBER ,19 84 .
