A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE STREET CLASSIFICATION
PLAN TO PROVIDE FOR THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF STATE ROUTE 88
FOR UTILITY,DRAINAGE AND ROADWAY PURPOSES.
WHEREAS,State Route 88 i s the primary access to recreational areas
and the Apache Trail;and
WHEREAS,portions of State Route 88 have been developed to a 100 -foot
right-of-way standard;and
WHEREAS,segments of State Route 88 only have a 66 -foot right-of-way;
and
WHEREAS,additional rights -of -way will be required i n the future for
utility,drainage and roadway purposes;and
WHEREAS,i t i s i n the best interest of the public to anticipate and
provide for future development and transportation needs.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,that the Street Classification Plan be amended
to provide for a 100 -foot right-of-way along the State Route 88 corridor,
and that necessary dedications and improvements be required for utility,
drainage and roadway purposes through the current processes for zoning,
building,development and subdivision.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that building setbacks and development adjacent
to State Route 88 recognize these limits and that encroachments of any kind
whatsoever not be permitted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,this 19th day of February ,19 85 .
