A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON MAY 15,1984;
ESTABLISHING POLLING PLACES AND VOTING DISTRICTS;PROVIDING
FOR THE RECORDATION OF THE ELECTORS'CHOICE;PROVIDING FOR
ELECTION OFFICIALS;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS,i t i s provided by law for the holding of a Special Election for
the City of Apache Junction;and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY IHE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 DESIGNATION OF ELECTION DATE
That the Special Election for the City of Apache Junction be held and conducted on
Tuesday,May 15,1984.
SECTION 2 DESIGNATION OF POLLING PLACES AND VOTING DISTRICTS
That Pinal and Maricopa County precincts be used and that the voters residing in
Pinal County Precincts 22A and 22B and Maricopa County Precinct Apache shall vote
at Superstition Mountain Elementary School,Ironwood Drive and Broadway Avenue,
Apache Junction,Pinal County,Arizona;and that voters residing i n Pinal County
Precincts 22C and 22F shall vote at Apache Junction Junior High School,Southern
Avenue and San Marcos Drive,Apache Junction,Pinal County,Arizona;and that
voters residing i n Pinal County Precincts 22D and 22E shall vote at Community
Christian Church,Superstition Boulevard and Valley Road,Apache Junction,Pinal
County,Arizona.
The polls shall be open on said date of the Special Election from 6:00 a.m.until
7:00 p.m.
SECTION 3 DESIGNATION OF ELECTION OFFICIALS
The following officers will be appointed to conduct the Special Election on
May 15,1984,for Pinal County Precincts 22A and 22B and Maricopa Precinct
Apache:One Inspector,Two Judges,Two Clerks,One Marshal.
The following officers will be appointed to conduct the Special Election on
May 15,1984,for Pinal County Precincts 22C and 22F:One Inspector,Four
Judges, Four Clerks,One Marshal.
The following officers will be appointed to conduct the Special Election on
May 15,1984,for Pinal County Precincts 22D and 22E:One Inspector,Two
Judges,Two Clerks,One Marshal.
The following officers will appointed to conduct the Special Election on
May 15,1984,for all Pinal and Maricopa County absentee voters:One
Inspector,Two Judges,Two Clerks.
If any members should fail to appear,the City Clerk shall appoint a qualified
substitute.
Said members of the Election Board shall be compensated at the rate of
$4.00 per hour or not less than $30.00 per day,whichever is greater.
SECTION 4 RECORDATION OF THE ELECTORS'CHOICE
Voting shall be by punch ballot.The City Clerk i s hereby authorized and directed
to cause the printing of punch ballots as set forth in Title 16 of the Arizona
Revised Statutes.

SECTION 5 DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
That the immediate operation of the provisions of this Resolution i s
necessary for the preservation of the public peace,health and safety and
an emergency i s hereby declared to exist,this Resolution shall be in
full force and effect immediately upon passage and adoption.

APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,THIS 17TH DAY
OF APRIL ,1984.

APACHE JUNCTION,CONDADOS DE PINAL Y MARICOPA,ESTADO DE ARIZONA,
AUTORIZANDO LA CELEBRACION DE ELECCIONES ESPECIAL EL 15 DE MAYO
DE 1984;ESTABLECIENDO LUGARES DE VOTACION Y DISTRITOS ELECTORALES;
PROVEYENDO A LA FORMA EN QUE LOS ELECTORES DAR A SU VOTO;Y
PROVEYENDO A LOS FUNCIONARIOS ENCARDOS DE LAS ELECCIONES;Y
DECLARANDO UNA EMERGENCIA.
POR CUANTO,ha sido establecida por la ley la celebraciA de
Elecciones Especial por la Ciudad de Apache Junction;y
POR TANTO HA SIDO DISPUESTO POR LA ALCALDE Y LOS CONCEJALES DE
LA CIUDAD DE APACHE JUNCTION,CONDADOS DE PINAL Y MARICOPA,ESTADO DE
ARIZONA,LO SIGUIENTE:
SECCIA 1 DESIGNACION DEL DIA DE LAS ELECCIONES
Que las elecciones especial de la Ciudad de Apache Junction se celebran
el martes,15 de mayo de 1984.
SECCIA 2 DESIGNACION DE LOS LUGARES DE VOTACIA Y LOS DISTRITOS ELECTORALES
Que los distritos electorales de los condados de Pinal y Maricopa se utilicen
y que los votantes que residen en los distritos electorales 22A y 22B del
condado de Pinal y el distrito electoral Apache del condado de Maricopa
votaran en l a escuela primaria Superstition Mountain,al cruce de Ironwood
Drive y Broadway Avenue,Apache Junction,Condado de Pinal,Arizona;y que
los votantes que residen en los distritos electorales 22C y 22F del condado
de Pinal votaran en Apache Junction Junior High School,al cruce de Southern
Avenue y San Marcos Drive,condado de Pinal,Apache Junction,Arizona;y que
los votantes qu,p residen en los distritos electorales 22D y 22E del condado
de Pinal votaran en la iglesia Community Christian,al cruce de Superstition
Boulevard y Valley Road,condado de Pinal,Apache Junction,Arizona.
Los lugares de votacicin estarali abierto el dia serialado para las elecciones
especial desde las 6:00 a.m.hasta las 7:00 p.m.
SECCIA 3 NOMBRAMIENTO DE LOS FUNCIONARIOS ENCARGADOS DE LAS ELECCIONES
Sergi nombrados los siguientes funcionarios para conducir las elecciones
especial el 15 de mayo de 1984,para los distritos electorales 22A y 22B
del condado de Pinal y para el distrito electoral Apache del condado de
Maricopa:Un Inspector,Dos Jueces,Dos Secretarios,Un Oficial de las
elecciones.
Sergi nombrados los siguientes funcionarios para conducir las elecciones
especial el 15 de mayo de 1984,para los distritos electorales 22C y 22F
del condado de Pinal:Un Inspector,Cuatro Jueces,Cuatro Secretarios,Un
Oficial de las elecciones.
Serdn nombrados los siguientes funcionarios para conducir las elecciones
especial el 15 de mayo de 1984,para los distritos electorales 22D y 22E
del condado de Pinal:Un Inspector,Dos Jueces,Dos Secretarios,Un
Oficial de las elecciones.
Serdn nombrados los siguientes funcionarios para conducir las elecciones
especial el 15 de payo de 1984,paratoletas ausentes para los distritos
electorales del condados Pinal y Maricopa:Un Inspector,Dos Jueces,
Dos Secretarios.
Si alguno de los funcionarios no comparece a desempenar su trabajo,l a
secretaria municipal'nombara a un sustituto calificado.

El sueldo de cada uno de estos funcior rios serdde $4.00 la hora dpor
las elecciones,se establece que un minimo de $30.00 el dia debera ser
pagado a cada uno de los funcionarios.
SECCION 4 FORMA EL QUE LOS VOTANTES DARAN SU VOTO
La votacion se hard'por medio de boletas de perforada.Por medio de la
presente,l a Secretaria Municipal queda autorizada para ordenar la impresion
de las boletas de perforada con l a forma fijada en el Tflulo 16,de los
Estatutos Revisados del Estado de Arizona.
SECCION 5 DECLARANDO UNA EMERGENCIA
Por cuapto,la inmediata aplicacidn de las provisiones de esta resolucion
es necesaria para el mantenimiento de las paz publica y para el bienestar
de la Ciudad de Apache Junction,por medio de la presente se declara clue,
exista una emergencia;y que esta ,resolucidn serd-cumplida y5e mantendra
en vigor desde el momento y,despues de su aprobacidh,adopcion y
autorizaci6T por l a Alcalde y los -Concejales de la Ciudad de Apache Junction,
quedando exempta de las normas de referendum establecidas por la Constitucion
y las leyes del Estado de Arizona.
PASADA Y ADOPTA POR LA ACALDE Y LOS CONCEJALES DE LA CIUDAD DE
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,EL DIA DECIMOSEPTIMO: DE ABRIL ,DE 1984.
