A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA ORDERING AND CALLING A
SPECIAL BOND ELECTION TO BE HELD IN AND FOR THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,ON MAY 15,1984,TO SUBMIT
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS THEREOF THE QUESTION OF
AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF UP TO AND INCLUDING
$1,500,000 AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA STREET AND HIGHWAY USER REVENUE BONDS,
PROJECT OF 1984;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
Section I .That a special street and highway user revenue bond
election i n the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,hereinafter referred to as
the "City",be and the same is hereby called to be held on May 15,
1984,at the following precincts and polling places:
Precinct
22A,22B and Gold
Dust Mobile Home Park
22C and 22F
22D and 22E
Polling Place
Superstition Mountain
Elementary School
West Broadway Avenue and
South Ironwood Drive
Apache Junction,Arizona
Apache Junction Junior High
School
West Southern Avenue and
South San Marcos Drive
Apache Junction,Arizona
Community Christian Church
West Superstition Boulevard
and North Valley Drive
Apache Junction,Arizona
The polling places will be open at 6:00 a.m.and close at
7:00 p.m.
Absentee voting shall be permitted in accordance with the provisions
of Title 16,Chapter 4,Article 8,Arizona Revised Statutes,as amended.A
qualified elector may vote absentee if:(1)the elector expects to be
absent from the City or his voting precinct at the time of holding the
election;(2)the elector is physically unable to go to the polls;(3)
the elector i s 65 years of age or older;(4)the elector's place of
residence is more than 15 road miles from the polling place for his
precinct;(5)the elector cannot attend the polls on the day of the
election because of the tenets of his religion;or (6)the elector is
legally blind.The absentee voting materials may be obtained by contacting
the office of the City Clerk,1001 North Idaho Road,Apache Junction,
Arizona,telephone:982-8002.

The purpose of the election i s to permit the qualified electors of
the City to vote on the question of whether City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,Street and Highway User Revenue Bonds,Project of 1984,i n the
maximum principal amount of $1,500,000 should be issued and sold,in one or
more series,pursuant to Title 9,Chapter 6,Article 5,Arizona Revised
Statutes,and all amendments thereto;the proceeds of which shall be used
for the purpose of improvement,construction,reconstruction,acquisition of
rights -of -way or maintenance of City streets and highways and to pay all
necessary legal,financial consultant,engineering and contingent costs
connected therewith.The bonds are to bear interest at a rate of not to
exceed twelve percent (12%)per annum from the date of their issuance,said
interest payable semiannually on the first day of January and the first day
of July of each year until the maturity of each bond of each series and said
bonds to mature over a period of not to exceed ten (10)years from the date
of issuance of each series and said bonds to mature on the first day of the
same month of each year which may be either January or July.I f approved
and sold,the bonds are payable solely from revenues derived from taxes,
fees,charges and other moneys collected by the State of Arizona and re-
turned to the City for street and highway purposes pursuant to law,which
have not been theretofore specifically allocated and pledged for the payment
of any other indebtedness of the City,such highway user taxes as are
necessary to pay principal of and interest on the bonds sought to be issued
will be irrevocably appropriated for the purpose of paying such principal
and interest.
Section II.That by reason of the urgent need for the improvements
to be made from the proceeds of the bonds herein sought to be authorized,
the immediate operation of the provision of this Resolution i s necessary for
the preservation of the public peace,health and safety,and an emergency i s
hereby declared to exist,and this Resolution will be i n full force and
effect immediately upon passage and adoption,and i t is so enacted.

APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THIS 9TH DAY OF APRIL ,1984.

(WE SEA RESUELTO POR EL PRESIDENTE MUNICIPAL Y EL CONCILIO DE LA
CUIDAD DE APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,COMO SIGUE:-
SECCION I .Que una eleccicin especial de bonos de ingreso del uso de
calle y carretera en l a Ciudad de Apache Junction,Arizona,aqui despues
referida coma l a "Ciudad",se convoque y l a misma par l a presente temia lugar
el 15 de mayo de 1984,en los siguientes recintos y lugares de votacion:

Los lugares de votacion se abrirgn a las 6:00 a.m.y se cerraran a
las 7:00 p.m.
Se permitirg la votaci6n absentista de acerdo con las provisiones
del Titulo 16,Capitulo 4,Artieula 8 ,Estatutos Revisados de Arizona,coma
enmendados.Un elector calificado puede votar absentista si:(1)el elector
piensa estar ausente de l a Ciudad o de su recinto de votaci6n el dia de tener
l a elecciOn;(2)el elector estg fisicamente incapacitado i r al lugar de la
votaci6n;(3)el elector tiene 65 anos de edad o mds;(4)el lugar de
residencia del elector estS rigs de 15 millas en camino del lugar de votacion
para su recinto;(5)el elector no,puede asistir a l a votacion el dia de la
eleccion por los dogmas de su religion;o (6),el elector esta legalmente ciego.
Se puede obtener los materiales de la votacion absentista par comunicarse con
la oficina del Escribano de la Ciudad,1001 North Idaho Road, Apache Junction,
Arizona,telefono:982-8002.
El propccsito de l a eleccicin es para,permitirles a los electores
calificados de l a Ciudad votar en l a cuestion de si se debe emitir Bonos
de Ingresos de Calle y Carretera de Arizona,de l a Cuidad de Apache
Junction,Propcto de 1984,en l a suma principal m6xima de $1,500,000,en
una serie o mas,de acuerdo con el Titulo 9,Capitulo 6,Articulo 5,
Estatutos Revisdados de Arizona, y todos las enmiendas a eso;se usar5 el
capital de eso para.el prOsito del mejoramiento,construcciOn„
reconstrucciOn,adquisicion de derechos a la via o mantenimienio de las
calles y carreteras de l a Ciudad y para pagar todos los costos necesariosseanlegales,de consUltante financiero,ingenieri,a y costos contingentes
relacionados con esto.Los bonos financieros llevaran inters a una tasa

que no exceda el docs por ciento (12%)par ano a partir de su fecha de su
dicho interes pagadero semianualmente en el primer.dia de enero
y el primer dia de julio de cada ago hasta el vsncimiento de cada bono de
cada serie y dichos bonos financieros se venceran sabre un periodo que no
exCeda diez (10)alias a partir de l a fecha de su emisiOn de cada serie yIdichosbonosfinancierossevenceranenelprimerdi,a del mismo mes de
cada alio,que pueda s r o enero o jipio.Se se,aprueban y se venden,los
bonos financieros seran pagaderos solo de los reditos obtenidos de los
impuestos,tarifas,cobros y otr9 dinero cobrado par el Estado de Arizona
y devuelto a la Ciudad para propositos de calle y i carretera de acuerdo con
l a ley,los cuales no han sido antes de eso especificamente alocados y
prometidos para el pago de caulquier otra dueda de la Ciudad,tales
impuestos 9e uso de carretera coma son necesarios para pagar principal
de e interes en los bonos financieros que se espera emitir sera',
irrevo,cablemente apropiado para el proposito de pagar tal principal e
interes.
SECCI6N II.Clue par razon de la necesidad urgente para los
mejoramientos que seran hechos del capital de los bonos financieros
que se wera autorizar,l a operacicin inme9iata de las pr;ovisiones de esta
Resolucion es necesaria para la preservacion de l a paz publica,salud y
seguridad,y po/r la presente se declara existir una emergencia,y esta
Resolucicin sera ,en plena vigor y efecto inmediatamente al pasarla y
adoptarla,y asi se enacta.
PASADA Y ADOPTADA POR EL PRESIDENTE MUNICIPAL Y EL CONCILIO DE LA
CIUDAD DE APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,ESTE 9 DIA DE ABRIL DE 1984.
