A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,REQUESTING AUTHORIZATION FROM THE STATE LAND
COMMISSIONER AND SELECTION BOARD TO ANNEX CERTAIN STATE LANDS
AS INDICATED BY RESOLUTION NO.86-07.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,
are desirous of extending and increasing the corporate limits of the
City of Apache Junction,Arizona,to include all State lands located
in -Sections 7,8,9,10,11,14,23,26,and 35,Township 1 North,
Range 8 East,Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian,Pinal County,
Arizona;and all State lands located in Sections 2,3,4,5,and 6,
Township 1 South,Range 8 East,Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian,
Pinal County,Arizona;and
WHEREAS,i t will be to the benefit of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,
and to the State of Arizona for the planning and orderly development
of these lands to be within the corporate boundaries of the City of
Apache Junction,Arizona;and
WHEREAS,i t i s necessary to obtain the authorization of the State Land
Commissioner and the Selection Board prior to annexing these lands;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THAT AUTHORIZATION TO ANNEX STATE
LANDS AS OUTLINED IN THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION BE REQUESTED
FROM THE STATE LAND COMMISSIONER AND SELECTION BOARD.
Passed and adopted by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,this 18th day of March ,1986.
