A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON MAY 13,1986;
ESTABLISHING POLLING PLACES AND VOTING DISTRICTS;PROVIDING
FOR THE RECORDATION OF THE ELECTORS'CHOICE;PROVIDING FOR
ELECTION OFFICIALS;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS,i t is provided by law for the holding of a Special
Referendum Election for the City of Apache Junction;and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I DESIGNATION OF ELECTION DATE
That the Special Referendum Election for the City of Apache Junction be held
and conducted on Tuesday,May 13,1986.
SECTION I I DESIGNATION OF POLLING PLACES AND VOTING DISTRICTS
That Pinal and Maricopa County precincts be used and that the voters residing
in Pinal County Precincts 22A and 22B and Maricopa County Precinct Apache
shall vote at Superstition Mountain Elementary School,Ironwood Drive and
Broadway Avenue,Apache Junction,Pinal County,Arizona;and that voters
residing in Pinal County Precincts 22C and 22F shall vote at Apache Junction
Junior High School,Southern Avenue and San Marcos Drive,Apache Junction,
Pinal County,Arizona;and that voters residing in Pinal County Precincts
22D and 22E shall vote at Community Christian Church,Superstition Boulevard
and Valley Road,Apache Junction,Pinal County,Arizona.
The polls shall be open on said date of the Special Referendum Election from
6:00 a.m.until 7:00 p.m.
SECTION III DESIGNATION OF ELECTION OFFICIALS
The following officers will be appointed to conduct the Special Referendum
Election on May 13,1986,for Pinal County Precincts 22A and 22B and Maricopa
Precinct Apache:One Inspector, Four Judges, Four Clerks,One Marshal,
One Alternate.
The following officers will be appointed to conduct the Special Referendum
Election on May 13,1986,for Pinal County Precincts 22C and 22F:One
Inspector,Four Judges,Four Clerks,One Marshal,One Alternate.
The following officers will be appointed to conduct the Special Referendum
Election on May 13,1986,for Pinal County Precincts 22D and 22E:One
Inspector,Two Judges,Two Clerks,One Marshal,One Alternate.
The following officers will be appointed to conduct the Special Referendum
Election on May 13,1986,for all Pinal and Maricopa County absentee voters:
One Inspector,Two Judges,and One Alternate.
I f any member should fail to appear,the City Clerk shall appoint a qualified
substitute.
Said members of the Election Board shall be compensated at the rate of $4.00
per hour or not less than $30.00 per day,whichever is greater.
SECTION IV RECORDATION OF THE ELECTOR'S CHOICE
Voting shall be by punch ballot.The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to cause the printing of punch ballots as set forth in Title 16
and Title 19 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.

SECTION V DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
That the immediate operation of the provisions of this resolution is
necessary for the preservation of the public peace,health and safety,
an emergency i s hereby declared to exist and this resolution shall be in
full force and effect immediately upon passage and adoption.

APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,THIS 15TH DAY

ARIZONA,AUTHORIZANDO LA CELEBRACION DE ELECCIONES ESPF,CIAL
EL 13 DE MAYO DE 1986;ESTABLICIENDO LUGARES DE VOTACION Y
DISTRITOS ELECJORALES;PROVEYENDO A LA FORMA EN QUE LOS
ELECTORES DARAN SU VOTO;Y PROVEYENDO A LOS FUNCIONARIOS
ENCARDOS DE LAS ELECCIONES;Y DECLARANDO UNA EMERGENCIA.
POR QUANTO,ha sido establecida por l a ley l a celebraciOn de
Elecciones Especial por l a Ciudad de Apache Junction;y
POR TANTO HA SIDO DISPUESTO POR LA ALCALDE Y LOS CONCEJALES DE LA
CIUDAD DE APACHE JUNCTION,CONDADOS DE PINAL Y MARICOPA,ESTADO DE ARIZONA,
LO SIGUIENTE:
SECCION I DESIGNACION DEL DIA DE LAS ELECCIONES
Que las elecciones Especiales de l a Ciudad de Apache Junction se celebran el
martes,13 de mayo de 1986.
SECCION I I DESIGNACIA DE LOS LUGARES DE VOTACIO-N Y LOS DISTRITOS
ELECTORAL ES
Que los distritos electorales de los condados de Pinal y Maricopa se utilicen
y que los votantes que residen en los distritos electorales 22A y 22B del
condado de Pinal y el distrito electoral Apache del condado de Maricopa
votara:n en l a escuela primaria Superstition Mountain,al cruce de Ironwood
Drive y Broadway Avenue,Apache Junction,Condado de Pinal,Arizona;y que
los votantes que residen en los distritos electorales 22C y 22F del condado
de Pinal-votarin en Apache Junction Junior High School,al cruce de Southern
Avenue y San Marcos Drive,condado de Pinal,Apache Junction,Arizona;y
que .los votantes que residen en los distritos electorales 22D y 22E del
condado de Pinal votarin en l a iglesia Community Christian,al cruce de
Superstition Boulevard y Valley Road,condado de Pinal,Apache Junction,Arizona.
Los sugares de votaciOn estaran abierto el di a selialado para las elecciones
especial desde las 6:00 a.m.hasta las 7:00 p.m.
SECCION III NOMBRAMIENTO DE LOS FUNCIONARIOS ENCARGADOS DE LAS ELECCIONES
Serdn nombrados los siguientes funcionarios para conducir las elecciones
especiales el 13 de mayo de 1986,para los distritos electorales 22A y 22B
del condado de Pinal y para el distrito electoral Apache del condado de
Maricopa:Um_InspectoriCuatrodueces,Cuatro Secretarios,Un Oficial de las
Elecciones,Un Sustituto.
Sergn nombrados los siguientes funcionarios para conducir las elecciones
epeciales el 13 de mayo de 1986,para los distritos electorales 22C y 22F
del condado de Pinal:Un Inspector,Cuatro Jueces,Cuatro Secretarios,
Un Oficial de las elecciones,Un Sustituto.
Seran nombrados los siguientes funcionarios para conducir las elecciones
especiales el 13 de mayo de 1986,para los distritos electorales 22D y 22E
del condado de Pinal:Un Inspector,Dos Jueces,Dos Secretarios,Un Oficial
de las elecciones,Un Sustituto.
Sergn nombrados los siguientes funcionarios para conducir las elecciones
especiales el 13 de mayo de 1986,para boletas ausentes para los distritos
electorales del condados Pinal y Maricopa:Un Inspector,Dos Jueces,Un Sustituto.
Si alguno de los funcionarios no comaprece a desempensar su trabajo,l a
secretaria municipal nombara a un sustituto calificado.

El suildo de cada uno de estos funcionarios serf de $4.00 l a hora por las
elecciones,se establece que un minimo de $30.00 el di a debergser pagado
a cada uno de los funcionarios.
SECCIA IV FORMA EL QUE LOS VOTANTES DARAN SU VOTO
La votaciOn se hart por medio de boletas de perforada.Por medio de l a
presente,l a Secretaria Municipal queda autorizada para ordenar l a impresion
de las boletas de perforada con l a forma fijada en los Tiiulo 16,y,Tilulo 19,
de los Estatutos Revisados del Estado de Arizona.
SECCIA V DECLARANDO.UNA EMERGENCIA
Por cuanto,l a inmediata aplicaciein de las provisiones de esta resoluci6 es
necesaria para el mantenimiento de las paz publica y para el bienestar de l a
Ciudad de Apache Junction,por medio de l a presente se declars.que exista una
emergencia;y que s§ta resolucion seja complida y se mantendra en vigor desde
el momenta y despues de su aprobacion,adopcion y autorizacion por l a Alcalde
y los Cancejales de l a Cuidad de Apache Junction,quedando exempta de las
normas de referendum establecidas por l a Constitucitin y las leyes del Estado
de Arizona.
PASADA Y ADOPTA POR LA ALCALDE Y LOS CONCEJALES DE LA CUIDAD DE
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,EL DIA 15TH DE ABRIL,DE 1986.
