A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,APPROVING A CERTAIN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AND THE STATE OF ARIZONA THROUGH
ITS DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION ALLOWING THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA
MUNICIPAL RISK RETENTION POOL AND AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT;AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Arizona law permits two or more public agencies to enter into
contracts or agreements to pool retention of their risks for property and
liability losses and t o provide for the payment of losses or claims of liability
made again any member of the pool ona cooperative or contract basis with one
another;and
WHEREAS, THE State of Arizona through its Department of Administration
is authorized pursuant to ARS 41-621 (B)to develop a Risk Retention Pool,has
the expertise to establish and administer such aPool,and is willing to provide
such service to the City of Apache Junction;and
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction desires to enter into an
Intergovernmental Agreement for the purpose of participation in such Risk
Retention Pool;
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Apache Junction,Arizona,as follows:
1.The City Council hereby approved that certain "Intergovernmental
Agreement"between .the City of Apache Junction and the State of
Arizona through its Department of Administration which provides
for the participation of the City of Apache Junction in the
State of Arizona Municipal Risk Retention Pool.
2.The Mayor i s hereby authorized to execute such agreement on
behalf of the City of Apache Junction.
3.The immediate operation of this Resolution is necessary for
the Preservation of the public peace,health,and safety,and
therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist,and this
Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately after
its passage and adoption.

JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THIS 21ST DAY OF JULY ,1987.
