A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING A GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON MAY 19,1987;
ESTABLISHING POLLING PLACES AND VOTING DISTRICTS;PROVIDING
FOR ELECTION OFFICIALS;AND PROVIDING FOR THE RECORDATION
OF THE ELECTORS'CHOICE.
WHEREAS,i t is provided by law for the holding of a General
Election for the City of Apache Junction;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Apache Junction,Pinal and Maricopa Counties,
as follows:
SECTION I DESIGNATION OF ELECTION DATE
That the General Election for the City of Apache Junction be held and con-
ducted on Tuesday,May 19,1987,for the mayoral position and one city
council position.
SECTION I I DESIGNATION OF POLLING PLACES AND VOTING DISTRICTS
That Pinal and Maricopa County precincts be used and that the voters residing
in Pinal County Precincts 22A and 22B and Maricopa Precinct Apache shall vote
at Superstition Mountain Elementary School,Ironwood Drive and Broadway
Avenue,Apache Junction,Pinal County,Arizona;and that the voters residing
i n Pinal County Precincts 22C and 22F shall vote at Apache Junction Junior
High School,Southern Avenue and San Marcos Drive,Apache Junction,Pinal
County,Arizona;and that the voters residing i n Pinal County Precincts
22D and 22E shall vote at Community Christian Church,Superstition Boule-
vard and North Valley Road,Apache Junction,Pinal County,Arizona.
The polls on the day of said General Election shall be open from 6:00 a.m.
until 7:00 p.m.
SECTION III DESIGNATION OF ELECTION OFFICIALS
The following officials will be appointed to conduct the General Election
on May 19,1987,in the position and precincts as indicated:
Pinal County Precincts 22A and 22 B and Maricopa Precinct Apache:One
Inspector,Four Judges,Four Clerks,One Marshal and One Alternate.
Pinal County Precincts 22C and 22F:One Inspector,Four Judges,Four Clerks,
One Marshal,One Alternate.
Pinal County Precincts 22D and 22E:One Inspector,Two Judges,Two Clerks,
One Marshal,One Alternate.
Absentee board officials for all precints:One Inspector,Two Judges.
I f any election official shall fail to appear,the City Clerk shall appoint
a qualified substitute.
Members of the Election Board shall be compensated at the rate of $4.00 per
hour or not less than $30.00 per day,whichever is greater.All election
inspectors shall be compensated at the rate of $4.50 per hour or $30.00
per day,whichever is greater.All election board officials attending the
required training session shall be compensated an additional $5.00.

SECTION IV RECORDATION OF ELECTORS'CHOICE
Voting shall be recorded by punch ballot card.The City Clerk i s hereby
authorized and directed to cause the printing of punch ballots for the
General Election as set forth in Title 16 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.
