A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING
THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR A FY 1989
FEDERAL GRANT UNDER THE LIBRARY LITERACY PROGRAM,
INCLUDING ALL UNDERSTANDINGS, ASSURANCES, AND
CERTIFICATIONS CONTAINED THEREIN.
WHEREAS, the City of Apache Junction, Arizona is desirous of
prorating literacy within the community; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Education is
administering the Library Literacy program; and
WHEREAS, a grantee of Federal Library Literacy Grant funds is
required to comply with the regulations, policies, guidelines and
requirements, as they relate to the application, acceptance and use of
Federal funds for this federally -assisted project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE Mayor and City Council
of the City of Apache Junction, Arizona authorizes application to be made
to the United States Department of Education for FY 1989 Library Literacy
Grant Funds, and authorizes the Librarian to act as the official
representative of the applicant to act in connection with the application
and to provide additional information as may be required; and
THAT, the City of Apache Junction, Arizona, will comply with
all regulations, policies, guidelines and requirements, as they relate to
the application, acceptance and use of Federal funds for this project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA, THIS 1ST DAY OF NOVEMBER , 1988.
