RESOLUTION NO.88-34
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,DESIGNATING THE ELECTION DATE
AND PURPOSE OF ELECTION;DESIGNATING THE DEADLINE FOR VOTER
REGISTRATION;DESIGNATING THE PLACE AND LAST DATE FOR
CANDIDATES TO FILE NOMINATION PAPERS;AND PROPOSING A
CONTINUATION OF THE LOCAL ALTERNATIVE EXPENDITURE LIMI-
TATION,BE SUBMITTED TO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I DESIGNATION OF THE ELECTION DATE;PURPOSE
That March 21,1989,has been set as the time for holding the Primary Election
in the City of Apache Junction for the purpose of nominating candidates for
mayor and three council offices whose names shall appear on the ballot at the
General Election to be held on May 16,1989.Any candidate receiving a majority
of all the votes cast at the Primary Election will be declared elected without
running at the General Election,
SECTION I I DESIGNATING DEADLINE FOR VOTER REGISTRATION
Pinal and Maricopa County registration and voting lists will be used for the
municipal election.In order to be qualified to vote,you must be registered
by January 30,1989.
SECTION III DESIGNATING DATE AND PLACE TO FILE CANDIDATE NOMINATION FORMS
Candidates seeking municipal office may obtain nomination papers and other
materials which must be filed at the Apache Junction City Clerk's office,
1001 N.Idaho Road,Apache Junction,Arizona,beginning December 5,1988.
Candidates must file nomination papers and other nomination forms by
5:00 p.m.on January 5,1989 at the Apache Junction City Clerk's office,
1001 N.Idaho Road,Apache Junction,Arizona,in order for their names to
appear on the Primary Election ballot.
SECTION IV PROPOSING CONTINUATION OF THE LOCAL ALTERNATIVE
EXPENDITURE LIMITATION
As authorized by the Arizona Revised Statutes,a proposed continuation of
the Local Alternative Expenditure Limitation to govern the City of Apache
Junction budget from fiscal year 1989-90 to 1992-93 will be submitted for
voter approval.
