A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR THE FY 1988 STATE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS AND CERTIFYING
THAT SAID APPLICATION MEETS THE LOW AND MODERATE
BENEFIT REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE CDBG PROGRAM
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction,Arizona is desirous of under-
taking community development activities;and
WHEREAS,the State of Arizona is administering the Community Develop-
ment Block Grant program;and
WHEREAS,the State CDBG program requires that CDBG funds requested
benefit at least 60%low and moderate income persons for activities justified
as benefiting low and moderate persons;and
WHEREAS,the State CDBG program requires that CDBG funds requested
benefit at least 51%low and moderate income persons for activities justified
as aiding in the prevention or elimination of slum or blight;and
WHEREAS,a grantee of State CDBG funds is required to comply with
the program guidelines and Federal Statutes and regulations.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Apache Junction,Arizona authorizes application to be made to the
State of Arizona,Department of Commerce for FY 1988 CDBG funds,and authorizes
the Mayor to sign application and contract or grant documents for receipt and
use of these funds;and
THAT this application for State CDBG funds meets the requirements of
low and moderate income benefits for activities justified or benefiting low and
moderate income persons and for activities justified as aiding in the
prevention or elimination of slum and blight;and
THAT,the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,will comply with all
State CDBG program and the certifications contained in the application.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,
THIS 19TH DAY OF JULY ,1988.
