A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,DECLARING INTENT
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ARIZONA ENTERPRISE ZONE
PROGRAM
WHEREAS,Arizona Senate Bill 1329 authorizes the establish-
ment of enterprise zones in Arizona;and,
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache
Junction,Arizona,i s concerned about high unemployment and poverty
among its citizens;and,
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction desires to enhance and
strenghten its efforts to promote economic development and diver-
sification;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Mayor and City
Council of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona does hereby declare
its intent to participate in the Arizona Enterprise Zone Program;and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Apache Junction is committed to the creation of a joint
Enterprise Zone Commission to serve as the governing body for the
Pinal County Enterprise Zone,which will include representation from
the City of Apache Junction.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION ON THE 20TH DAY OF FEBRUARY ,1990.
