A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION ARIZONA SUPPORTING
THE APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A PINAL COUNTY
ENTERPRISE ZONE AND APPOINTING TWO REPRESENTA-
TIVES TO THE COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, Arizona Senate Bill 1329 authorizes establishment of
enterprise zones in Arizona;and,,
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Apache Junction is
concerned about high unemployment and poverty among its citizens;and,
WHEREAS, the City of Apache Junction desires to enhance and
strengthen its efforts t o promote economic development and diversification;
and
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction previously has expressed
its intent to participate in the Arizona Enterprise Zone Program;
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Apache Junction does hereby
support the filing of an application for a Pinal County Enterprise Zone
and authorizes payment of a pro rata share in the amount of $328 to the
Central Arizona Association of Governments for preparing the application;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Robin Barker and Harry Polomskey
be appointed to the Pinal County Enterprise Zone Commission for staggered
2 -year terms through June 30,1991,or June 30,1992,as lots are drawn.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THIS 20TH DAY OF MARCH ,1990.
