A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,ADOPTING A PLAN TO MINIMIZE
DISPLACEMENT AND ASSIST PERSONS ACTUALLY DISPLACED AS A
RESULT OF ACTIVITIES FUNDED IN WHOLE OR IN PART WITH
1990/91 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS.
WHEREAS,the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974,as
amended by the Urban -;Rural Recovery Act of 1983,Section 104(s)(2)(A)and
Section 104(j),requires that all recipients of Community Development
Block Grant funds develop plans to minimize displacement and to assist
persons actually displaced as a result of activities funded in whole or
part with CDBG funds;and
WHEREAS,the State of Arizona,Department of Commerce,has
developed a strategy,recordkeeping requirements and resource materials to
implement such a plan,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,hereby adopt a strategy to
minimize displacement and agree to document all efforts;certify that the
City of Apache Junction,Arizona,will not initiate any displacement
activity until a source and specific amount of funds to provide assistance
and reasonable benefits to those displaced has been identified and
approved by the Department of Commerce;name the Office of Housing
Rehabilitation and Grants to be responsible for providing counseling and
assistance to those displaced,should such actions be necessary,and adopt
the strategy,recordkeeping requirements and informational procedures
recommended by the Department of Commerce to insure that assistance and
reasonable benefits are provided to those displaced.
