A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING UNLIMITED METROPOLITAN AREA
TELEPHONE CALLS TO AND FROM APACHE JUNCTION AT A FLAT
RATE NOT TO EXCEED CURRENT BASE PRICING.
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction is included in the
Superstition Exchange of US West Communications service for the Metropolitan
Phoenix area;and,
WHEREAS,Apache Junction telephone subscribers are now charged
interzone rates per call out of the zone;and
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction seeks equitable services and
charges for residents and businesses of Apache Junction;and
WHEREAS,a Metropolitan Pricing Policy is being reviewed and
formulated by the Arizona Corporation Commission;and,
WHEREAS,various plans and pricing structures are under study and
discussion,and individual telephone subscribers may have a choice of plans;
and,
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction is and has been an intervenor
to these proceedings;and,
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
through its City Attorney and staff,has evaluated these proceedings in terms
of maximum benefit to Apache Junction residents;therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED,that the City of Apache Junction supports unlimited
calling within the Phoenix Metropolitan Area,with no additional charges for
time or distance,as offering the greatest benefit to Apache Junction telephone
subscribers for calls originating in Apache Junction;and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the City of Apache Junction requests
that incoming calls from the Phoenix Metropolitan Area to Apache Junction be
reciprocal in that unlimited calling with no additional charges for time or
distance be provided;and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the City of Apache Junction requests
that metropolitan -wide service at no additional base cost be provided to Apache
Junction telephone subscribers.

JUNCTION, ARIZONA,THIS 16TH DAY OF OCTOBER ,1990.
