A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A LANDFILL SITING COMMITTEE FOR
THE STUDY OF PROPOSED REGIONAL LANDFILL TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF NORTHWESTERN
PINAL COUNTY AND SOUTHEASTERN MARICOPA COUNTY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THAT:
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction recognizes the need for a regional
landfill to serve northwestern Pinal County and southeastern Maricopa County;
and
WHEREAS,a Siting Committee composed of representatives of interested
communities and agencies has been developed;and
WHEREAS,the initial Southeast Regional Landfill Steering Committee has
requested that each municipality's authority formally endorse the composition
of the Siting Committee and make city council and staff appointments to serve
as representatives.
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THAT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SOUTHEAST REGIONAL
LANDFILL SITING COMMITTEE BE ENDORSED AND CITY COUNCIL AND STAFF REPRESENTA-
TIVES BE PROVIDED.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THIS 6TH DAY OF NOVEMBER ,1990.
