A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA ESTABLISHING FILING FEES FOR GENERAL PLAN
AMENDMENT APPLICATIONS.
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction City Council did on June 16,1987 adopt the
1987 Apache Junction General Plan;and
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction City Council receives individual requests to
have the General Plan amended from time to time;and
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction City Council finds that the City incurs
substantial costs in processing such general plan/amendment requests;and
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction City Council desires to implement Apache
Junction City Council Resolution No.90-38 which stipulated that general plan
amendment processing costs be borne by the applicant;and
WHEREAS, the Apache Junction City Council finds it necessary to charge fees
for the processing of individually -initiated general plan amendments,thereby
providing the necessary funds for the municipal planning agency pursuant to
A.R.S.Section 9-461.04 to process the applications;and
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission held a public
hearing on January 22,1991 and recommended approval of a filing fee to defray
the costs of processing general plan amendments;and
WHEREAS,this Council finds that the establishment of general plan
amendment processing fees is necessary for sound and orderly community
development,for preservation of community values,and for the promotion of the
general health,safety,convenience,and welfare of the citizens of the Apache
Junction community.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona that a filing and processing fee in the amount of
$300.00 be required of applicants for a general plan amendment.
