A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,SUPPORTING AND COMMENDING CENTRAL ARIZONA COLLEGE
FOR THEIR RECENT INVESTMENT IN THE LOCAL CAMPUS;AND ACKNOWLEDGING
THEIR CONTINUED CONTRIBUTION TO OUR COMMUNITY BY IMPROVING THE
QUALITY OF LIFE FOR OUR CITIZENS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS,Central Arizona College began its history in Apache Junction
in the early 1970's and has grown from a 1976 enrollment of 66 full-time
students to a 1990 enrollment of 490 full-time students;and
WHEREAS,a significant recognition of the growing population of Apache
Junction and a commitment to serve this population was evidenced in 1985 with
Central Arizona College's first assignment of full-time faculty;and
WHEREAS,a continued commitment to our citizens is evidenced by Central
Arizona College's 1990 employment of 8 full-time and 50 part-time faculty
members;and
WHEREAS,a significant landmark for Apache Junction and Central Arizona
College is their January 1991 purchase of a 55,000 square foot campus complex at
2783 E.Highway 60.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Apache Junction,Arizona,that Central Arizona College is hereby
commended for their continued and unwaivering support of this community;and
recognized for their financial commitment to our community and its citizens
evidenced by their purchase of a campus complex within our city.
