A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GPA-91W-01,A CITY -INITIATED PROPOSAL
TO MODIFY THE REQUIREMENT IN GENERAL PLAN SECTION 0.1.6 SO THAT FINDINGS OF FACT
NEED NOT BE MADE IF THE FINDINGS WOULD BE INAPPLICABLE TO THE AMENDMENT UNDER
CONSIDERATION.
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction City Council did on June 16,1987 adopt the
1987 Apache Junction General Plan;and
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction City Council receives individual requests to
have the General Plan amended from time to time;and
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission held a public
hearing regarding GPA-91W-01 on March 12,1991;and
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission recommended
approval of GPA-91W-01;and
WHEREAS,this Council has complied with the requirements for the pre-
paration and adoption of a General Plan amendment pursuant to A.R.S.§ 9-461.05;
and
WHEREAS,this Council finds that the action taken on this General Plan
Amendment is necessary for sound and orderly community development,for
preservation of community values,and for the promotion of the general health,
safety,convenience,and welfare of the citizens of the Apache Junction
community.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,that:
GPA-91W-01,a City -initiated General Plan amendment proposing the deletion
of the third paragraph and the first line in the fourth paragraph under Section
D.1.6 (page 110)of the 1987 Apache Junction General Plan and having them
replaced with the following:
"The following Findings of Fact shall be made for amendments to the
General Plan unless any or all of the Findings would not be applicable to
the amendment under consideration:"
Be APPROVED and ADOPTED.
