A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION ENDORSING PARTICIPATION IN THE
PINAL COUNTY ENTERPRISE ZONE AND THE CREATION OF A
JOINT ENTERPRISE ZONE COMMISSION.
WHEREAS,Arizona Senate Bill 1329 authorized the establishment of
enterprise zones in Arizona;and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and Council of the City of Apache Junction are
concerned about high unemployment and poverty in the City of Apache Junction
in Pinal County and among the other communities of Pinal County;and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and Council of the City of Apache Junction desire to
enhance and strengthen local efforts to promote economic development and
diversification;
WHEREAS,the Mayor and Council of the City of Apache Junction declared
their intent to participate in a county -wide Pinal County Enterprise Zone in
the adoption of Resolution No.90-33,and said resolution provided for the
appointment of representatives with staggered terms;and
WHEREAS,it is the desire to appoint representatives without the
restriction of staggered terms;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the City of
Apache Junction are committed to the creation of a joint Enterprise Zone
Commission to serve as the governing body for the Pinal County Enterprise Zone
Program to include the following individuals to represent the City of Apache
Junction:Gary Higgins and Harry Polomskey.

JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THIS 6TH DAY OF AUGUST ,1991.
