A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION IDENTIFYING FISCAL YEAR 1993
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING NEEDS AND ACTIVITIES
TO BE UNDERTAKEN TO MEET SUCH NEEDS.
WHEREAS,Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974,as
amended,states that the primary objective of the Title and of the community
development program of each grantee is the "development of viable urban
communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and
expanding economic opportunities,principally for persons of low and moderate
income...";and
WHEREAS Section 106(d)(2)(D) requires the Governor of each state to certify
that each unit of general local government to be distributed funds will identify
its community development and housing needs,including the needs of low and
moderate income person,and the activities to be undertaken to meet such needs.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mayor City Council of the City of
Apache Junction hereby state that the community development and housing needs of
the City of Apache Junction including the needs of low and moderate income
persons are:
a.)To improve housing stock;
b.)To assist low income households seeking home ownership;
c.)To provide shelter and transitional housing for victims
of domestic violence;and,
d.)To continue improvement of facilities related to
Americans with Disabilities Act.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Mayor and Council of the City of Apache
Junction hereby state that the activity proposed to be undertaken with FY 1993
CDBG funds to meet such needs is Privately Owned Housing Rehabilitation.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Apache Junction this
1st day of September ,1992.
