A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION, ARIZONA,PROVIDING NOTICE OF THE REGULAR PRIMARY ELECTION;
ESTABLISHING POLLING PLACES AND VOTING DISTRICTS AND THE TIMES THAT
SUCH POLLS WILL BE OPEN;AND APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS AND
FIXING THEIR RATE OF COMPENSATION.
WHEREAS,it is provided by law for the holding of a Primary Election;and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council has by resolution called a Primary
Election to be held on March 9,1993.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,as follows:
SECTION I DESIGNATION OF ELECTION DATE
That the City of Apache Junction Primary Election be held Tuesday, March 9,1993,
for the purpose of nominating candidates for the offices of mayor and three
councilmembers.Any candidate receiving a majority of all of the votes cast at
the Primary Election will be declared elected without running at the General
Election.
A proposal to continue a local alternative expenditure limitation -home rule
option will be considered at the Primary Election for the City of Apache Junction
on Tuesday,March 9,1993.
SECTION II DESIGNATION OF POLLING PLACES AND VOTING DISTRICTS
That Pinal and Maricopa County precincts be used and that the voters residing in
Pinal County Precincts 42 and 43 and Maricopa Precinct Apache shall vote at
Superstition Mountain Elementary School, 1700W. Broadway, Apache Junction, Pinal
County,Arizona;and that the voters residing in Pinal County Precincts 44 and
47 shall vote at Apache Junction Junior High School,801 W.Southern Avenue,
Apache Junction,Pinal County,Arizona;and that the voters residing in Pinal
County Precincts 45 and 46 shall vote at Community Christian Church,1150 W.
Superstition Boulevard,Apache Junction,Pinal County,Arizona.
The polls shall be open from 6:00 a.m.until 7:00 p.m.
SECTION III ELECTION OFFICIALS AND THEIR COMPENSATION
The following officers are hereby appointed to conduct the Primary Election:
Pinal County Precincts 42 and 43 and Maricopa Precinct Apache:One Inspector,
Four Judges,Four Clerks,One Marshal,One Alternate.
Pinal County Precincts 44 and 47:One Inspector,Four Judges,Four Clerks,One

Marshal,One Alternate.
Pinal County Precincts 45 and 46:One Inspector,Four Judges,Four Clerks,One
Marshal,One Alternate.
Absentee Board Officials (all Precincts):One Inspector,Two Judges.
Members of the Election Board shall be compensated in the following manner:
Inspectors:$85.00 per day (except Absentee Board Inspector)
Judges,Clerks,Marshals and Alternates:$75.00 per day (except Absentee Board
Officials)
Absentee Board Inspector:$40.00 per day
Absentee Board Judges:$35.00 per day
Attendance at mandatory training session for all board positions:$5.00
Attendance at Logic and Accuracy Test for selected positions:$5.00
Indian Translator as required by the Federal Voting Rights Act of 1964:$6.00
per hour plus 25t per mile travel reimbursement.
If any election official shall fail to appear,the City Clerk shall appoint a
qualified substitute.
