A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACH JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GPA-93-02,A CITY-INITI ED PROPOSAL
TO ALLOW ANY NUMBER OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED AT ANY TIME OF
THE YEAR.
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction City Council did,on J4de 16,1987,adopt the
1987 Apache Junction General Plan;and
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction Planning and Zoniy6 Commission held a public
hearing regarding GPA-93-02 on March 23,1993;an
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction Planning an/ Zoning Commission recommended
approval of GPA-93-02 by a vote of 4 to 3;a
WHEREAS,this Council has complted with the requirements for the
preparation and adoption of a General P10 amendment pursuant to A.R.S.Section
9-461.05;and
WHEREAS,this Council finds jiIat the action taken on this General Plan
Amendment is necessary for soud and orderly community development,for
preservation of community values and for the promotion of the general health,
safety,convenience,and wel re of the citizens of the Apache Junction
community;and
WHEREAS,this Council as considered the findings of fact given in Section
D.1.6 of the 1987 Apache nction General Plan and finds them to be applicable
primarily to changes in he Land Use Plan and inapplicable to the procedural
change proposed by GPA- 3-02.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,that:
GPA-93-02,City -initiated general plan amendment to allow any number of
general plan am dments to be considered at any time of the year by deleting that
provision whi7l was adopted pursuant to Resolution No.90-38:
"Howe er,review of such requests shall be undertaken only on a
regqTarly scheduled basis, which shall occur only two times per year
atiiix-month intervals."
