A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT TO PROCEED WITH THE WILLIAMS REGIONAL PLANNING STUDY.
WHEREAS,the City of Mesa on behalf of the Williams Redevelopment
Parnership has received a grant from the U.S.Department of Commerce,Economic
Development Administration, to develop the Williams Regional Planning Study;and
WHEREAS,a Williams Regional Planning Study Steering Committee has been
formed with representation from the City of Apache Junction along with the other
six affected jurisdictions and Maricopa Association of Governments;and
WHEREAS, the Williams Regional Planning Study Steering Committee has agreed
to a work scope for the Williams Regional Planning Study and developed a Request
for Proposals to be distributed to consultants;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,that:
1.The City of Apache Junction agrees to participate in the completion
of the Williams Regional Planning Study.
2.The City of Apache Junction hereby supports the work scope contained
within the Request for Proposals,understands the need to study the area
surrounding Williams from a land use and economic development perspective,
and approves the purpose and intent of the Study.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THIS 6th DAY OF SEPTEMBER ,1994.
