HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 95-28RESOLUTION NO.95-28 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA,TO SUPPORT ALLOWING COMMERCIAL CORPORATE SIGNAGE AT FREEWAY EXITS. WHEREAS,the economic future of our community,together with that of Pinal County,will be derived from a thriving business climate:and WHEREAS,businesses must rely on quality products,competitive pricing,and courteous service to attract customers,but customers rely on accessibility to a business through a convenient transportation system:and WHEREAS,the Superstition Freeway has now replaced West Apache Trail as a convenient system;and WHEREAS,rural Interstates have been allowed to sign for services such as food,gas,and lodging using corporate logos: NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,that the City of Apache Junction hereby requests that the Arizona Department of Transportation expand their policy to include commercial signage at Freeway exits for rural areas on the fringe of the metropolitan Phoenix area. PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA,THIS 17TH DAY OF OCTOBER ,1995. SIGNED AND ATTESTED TO THE 18TH DAY OF OCTOBER ,1995.
