A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN
APPLICATION FOR STATE HOUSING FUNDS CERTIFYING THAT SAID
APPLICATION(S) MEET(S) THE COMMUNITY'S HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT NEEDS AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE HOUSING
PROGRAMS; AND AUTHORIZING ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT
AND COMPLETE THE ACTIVITIES OUTLINED IN SAID APPLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Apache Junction is desirous of undertaking affordable
housing development activities;and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated Title 41, the State
of Arizona administers the State Housing Fund Program; and
WHEREAS, the application addresses the community's low-income population
housing needs;and
WHEREAS, in order to receive State Funds and Federal Funds for low income
housing rehabilitation, the City is required to submit applications for such funds to the
State Department of Commerce and enter into a intergovernmental agreement for use of
such funds, and must comply with other program guidelines, State and Federal Statutes
and regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Apache Junction authorize application to be made to the State of Arizona,
Department of Commerce for funding from the State Housing Fund, and authorize the
Mayor to sign application and contract or grant documents for receipt and use of these
funds for:
Housing Rehabilitation
and authorize the Mayor to take all actions necessary to implement and complete the
activities submitted in said application;and
That, the City of Apache Junction will comply with all State Housing Fund
Program Guidelines, State and Federal and Statutes and regulations applicable to the
State Housing Fund Program, including the Home Investment Partnership Program,
Home Program, and State Housing Trust Fund, and the certifications contained in the
application(s).
