A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,SUPPORTING HOUSE BILL 2034,CAMPUS MATCHING
MONIES,APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $3,250,000 OVER A FOUR-YEAR
PERIOD FROM THE STATE GENERAL FUND TO THE STATE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
FOR DISTRIBUTION TO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICTS THAT HAVE
PREVIOUSLY QUALIFIED FOR MATCHING MONIES PURSUANT TO ARIZONA
REVISED STATUTES §15-1463(B).
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction is supportive of the continued
capital development of Central Arizona Community College;and
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction hosts the Superstition Mountain
Branch of Central Arizona College within the City municipal boundaries;and
WHEREAS,the continued expansion of the Superstition Mountain Campus can
be enhanced by the State of Arizona appropriating $3,250,000 over a four-year
period from the State General Fund to the State Board of Directors and by its
distribution to community college districts that have previously qualified for
matching monies pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes §15-1463(B);
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Apache Junction urge the support of the Arizona State Legislature in approving
House Bill 2034 and allowing the appropriation of money for qualified
community college districts.
