A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN
APPLICATION(S) FOR STATE HOUSING FUNDS CERTIFYING THAT SAID
APPLICATION(S) MEETS THE CITY'S HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT NEEDS AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE HOUSING
PROGRAMS; AND AUTHORIZING ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT
AND COMPLETE THE ACTIVITIES OUTLINED IN SAID APPLICATION(S).
WHEREAS, the City of Apache Junction is desirous of undertaking affordable
housing development activities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated § 41-1505, the State
of Arizona administers the State Housing Fund Program; and
WHEREAS, in order to receive state and federal funds for low income housing
rehabilitation, the City is required to submit applications for such funds to the State
Department of Commerce and enter into a intergovernmental agreement for use of such
funds, and must comply with program guidelines, federal and state laws and regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Apache Junction Arizona, as follows:
The City of Apache Junction is authorized to make application(s) to the State of
Arizona Department of Commerce for funding from the State Housing Fund, and the
Mayor is authorized to sign application(s), contract(s), and grant document(s) for
procurement and use of housing rehabilitation funds.The Mayor is further authorized to
take all actions necessary to implement and complete the activities submitted in said
application(s).
In application for and use of such funds, the City of Apache Junction shall comply
with all State Housing Fund Program Guidelines, state and federal and statutes and
regulations applicable to the State Housing Fund Program, including the Home
Investment Partnership Program, Home Program, and State Housing Trust Fund, and the
certifications contained in any submitted applications.
