A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE/JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GPA-98-04,A REQUEST /FO REDESIGNATE
A 2 -ACRE PROPERTY,LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 264 FEET WEST OF 6TH SOUTHWEST CORNER
OF N.VALLEY DRIVE AND W.GREASEWOOD STREET,FROM C (COMMNK AL)TO HD (HIGH
DENSITY RESIDENTIAL/ 6 TO 18 DWELLING UNITS PER ACRE).
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council did,on JuV/16,1987,adopt the
1987 Apache Junction General Plan:and
WHEREAS,the Apache Junction Planning and A;Yng Commission held a
public hearing regarding GPA-98-04 on March 23j "9;id7R\

approval of GPA-98-04 by a vote of 4 to 2:
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Counci Yh s 4mplied with the requirements
for the preparation and adoption of Ake.al an Amendment pursuant to
Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated J,eei n 9-461.06:and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City,Abb9Cil makes the following Findings of Fact
required by Section D.1.6 of thej087/Apache Junction General Plan to support
the approval of GPA-98-04:
1)The development pattern contayned in the Land Use Plan does not adequately
provide for the typical high/density residential uses found along major
commercial corridors.
2)The proposed residential/High Density Designation appears to be consistent
with and conform to the/General Plan Land Use Implementation Guidelines,in
that the High Density6 esignation typically buffers the CommercialDesignationfrom the/ edium Density Residential Designation.
NOW,THEREFORE/BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,that:
GPA-98-04,/e General Plan Amendment request to redesignate from
Commercial to HAlh Density Residential,be approved and adopted,for the
following legally described property:

The North half of the Southeast quarter of the Southwest quarter of
the Southwest quarter of Section 17,Township 1 North,Range 8
East,Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian,Apache J4ection,Pinal
County,Arizona.
EXCEPT the West 132 feet and East 264 feet thereof)
excepting therefrom all coal,oil,gas and other,real
deposits as reserved in the patent recorded inhpak 212,
page 493.
