A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR RENEWAL FOR THE
CONTINUATION OF THE PINAL COUNTY ENTERPRISE ZONE, AND DESIGNATION OF
STAFF REPRESENTATIVE.
WHEREAS,Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated §41-1521 et seq.authorizes the Pinal
County Enterprise Zone Commission,with the approval of its participating
jurisdictions,to apply for renewal of an enterprise zone;and
WHEREAS,the primary goal of the Arizona Enterprise Zone Program is to improve
the economies in designated areas by enhancing opportunities for private
investment and job creation;and
WHEREAS,designation of the Pinal County Enterprise Zone was certified on June
1,1991,and was renewed on January 1,1996,2000;and
WHEREAS,the Pinal County Enterprise Zone will terminate on December 31,2000:
and
WHEREAS,the Pinal County Enterprise Zone covers,among other areas,the entire
corporate boundaries of the City of Apache Junction;and
WHEREAS,the Pinal County Enterprise Zone Commission and its participating
jurisdictions believe that continuation of the Pinal County Enterprise Zone for
another five years will enhance local economic development efforts.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the City of Apache
Junction hereby:1)approve the application for renewal of the Pinal County
Enterprise Zone;and 2)authorize the City Manager to designate a representative
to serve as a non -voting advisory member of the Pinal County Enterprise
Commission.

ARIZONA,THIS 19TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER ,2000.
