A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,DESIGNATING AN AREA AS THE SINGLE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT OF THE
CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA
WHEREAS,the designation of a Single Central Business District offers a
valuable community redevelopment tool:and
WHEREAS,this designation gives the City the ability to leverage low land
costs and improvements to maximize future value and potential to the City:and
WHEREAS,this is a proven tool,understood by developers,that can assist both
the development and the revitalization of the area.
WHEREAS,pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated ("A.R.S.")§42-6209.
the City may abate any levied excise tax when a certificate of occupancy is
issued and for up to eight years therefrom for all properties located in the
Single Central Business District which is owned by the City and leased for any
commercial.residential rental or industrial purpose.including but not
limited to office,retail,restaurant,service business,hotel,entertainment,
recreational,or parking usage.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Apache Junction,Arizona.that:
The area depicted in Exhibit "A"is hereby designated as the Single Central
Business District within the City of Apache Junction,pursuant to A.R.S.§42-
6209,as amended.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THIS 16TH DAY OF MAY ,2000.
