A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR A SMALL AREA TRANSPORTATION STUDY.
WHEREAS,the State of Arizona and the City of Apache Junction are authorized
to enter into intergovernmental agreements pursuant to Arizona Revised
Statutes Sections 9-276 (A)and 11-952:and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache Junction finds i t
in the best interest of the citizens to enter into an intergovernmental
agreement with the Arizona Department of Transportation for the purpose of
conducting a Small Area Transportation Study within the Apache Junction area:
and
WHEREAS,a Small Area Transportation Study will benefit the City of Apache
Junction by reporting existing and future traffic patterns which will assist
the Mayor and the City Council in identifying the current and future
transportation system needs of the community.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Apache Junction.Arizona,as follows:
1.The City will enter into this Agreement with the State of Arizona,
acting by and through the Arizona Department of Transportation,for
purposes of conducting a Small Area Transportation Study within the
Apache Junction area.
2.The Mayor shall be authorized to sign the intergovernmental agreement
on behalf of the City.
