A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,RECOMMENDING THE EXPANSION OF THE APACHE JUNCTION FIRE
DISTRICT BOUNDARIES TO ALLOW THE APACHE JUNCTION FIRE DISTRICT TO
PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES TO THE ROYAL APARTMENTS LOCATED AT
108 N.MERIDIAN ROAD,MARICOPA COUNTY,APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA.
WHEREAS,on or about June 25,2002, James and Emma Wood filed an Impact Statement
with the Apache Junction Fire District "AJFD"Clerk requesting their property
located at 108 N.Meridian Road,Maricopa County,Apache Junction,Arizona,
commonly known as the "Royal Apartments,"receive fire protection services from
AJFD rather than from Rural Metro which currently provides fire protection (See
Exhibit A,Legal Description and physical property depiction,in Exhibit B);and
WHEREAS,on August 2,2002,the City received this request from AJFD;and
WHEREAS,On September 16,2002,the Apache Junction Mayor and City Council
reviewed the Impact Statement at their regular scheduled Council meeting;and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated § 48-262,such a request
for boundary expansion is only permitted if the governing city council recommends
approval of the request.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I
The Mayor and City Council have fully considered the impact statement referenced
above.
SECTION I I
The Mayor and City Council believe that extending the boundaries of the Apache
Junction Fire District to provide fire protection services to the property set
• forth in Exhibit A and depicted in Exhibit B above would promote the public
health,comfort,convenience,necessity or welfare.

SECTION III
The Mayor and City Council therefore fully endorse the impact statement and
boundary change request.
SECTION IV.
The Mayor and City Council directs the City Clerk to send this resolution to the
AJFD Board Clerk for filing after i t has been signed by the Mayor and attested
to by the City Clerk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY the Mayor and Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,this 17TH day of SEPTEMBER ,2002.

Beginning at a point 650 feet North of the Southeast corner of the East
half of the East half of the Northeast quarter of Section 24;thence
North 150 feet;thence West 300 feet;thence South 150 feet;thence
East 300 feet,to the point of beginning.
