HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 02-23RESOLUTION NO. 02-23 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR STATE HOUSING FUNDS CERTIFYING THAT SAID APPLICATION MEETS THE COMMUNITY'S HOUSING AND DEVELOPMENT NEEDS AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE HOUSING PROGRAMS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS IN FURTHERANCE OF THE SUBMITTAL PROCESS; AUTHORIZING STAFF TO TAKE ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT AND COMPLETE THE SUBMITTAL PROCESS; AND CONFIRMATION THAT CITY SHALL BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL LAWS. WHEREAS, the City of Apache Junction is desirous of undertaking affordable housing development activities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated Title 41, the State of Arizona administers the State Housing Fund Program; and WHEREAS, the application addresses the community's low-income population housing needs; and WHEREAS, in order to receive State Funds and Federal Funds for low income housing rehabilitation, the City is required to submit applications for such funds to the State Department of Commerce and enter into an intergovernmental agreement for use of such funds and must comply with other program guidelines, State and Federal Statutes and regulations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache Junction, Arizona, as Follows: SECTION 1:Authorizing Submission of Application Approval is given for staff to submit housing rehabilitation application(s) to the State of Arizona Department of Housing for funding from the State Housing Fund. SECTION 2:Authorizing Mayor to sign Applications and other documents and staff to take all actions necessary to complete application process. a)Approval is given for the Mayor to execute all housing rehabilitation applications, contracts, and other documents to complete the submittal process; and RESOLUTION NO. 02-23 PAGE 1 OF 2 b)Approval is given for staff to take all necessary actions to implement and complete the submittal process. SECTION 3:Confirmation of Compliance with all laws. City staff is also directed to comply with any and all State and Federal laws, including but not limited to statutes and regulations applicable to the State Housing Fund Program, the HOME Investment Partnership Program, the HOME Program, the State Housing Trust Fund, and any statements contained therein.
