HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 03-16RESOLUTION NO.03-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION.ARIZONA.DECLARING AS A PUBLIC RECORD AND ADOPTING CERTAIN DOCUMENTS FILED WITH THE CITY CLERK ENTITLED THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003-2004"AND THE COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION SCHEDULE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003-2004 ;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS,the most recent Classification Plan and Compensation Schedule was adopted in 2000 for all classified employees of the City of Apache Junction: and WHEREAS.since that time,pay ranges in the Phoenix metropolitan area have become more competitive between valley cities:and WHEREAS.to evaluate the competitiveness of the City's compensation structure.the Mayor and City Council in 2002 directed staff to conduct a pay study:and WHEREAS.on May 27.2003.staff completed the compensation study and presented i t to the Mayor and City Council. NOW.WHEREFORE.BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION.ARIZONA.AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 DECLARING A PUBLIC RECORD THAT certain documents entitled "The Classification Plan for Fiscal Year 2003-2004 -(Exhibit A)and The Compensation Schedule for Fiscal Year 2003- 2004"(Exhibit B).three copies of each which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Apache Junction.Arizona.are hereby declared to be public records: the copies shall remain on file with the City Clerk's office and shall be available for public examination and reproduction. SECTION I I ADOPTION OF PLAN AND SCHEDULE THAT certain documents entitled "The Compensation Plan for Fiscal Year 2003- 2004 -and -The Compensation Schedule for Fiscal Year 2003-2004"are hereby adopted.referred to.and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Resolution. RESOLUTION NO.03-16 Page 1 of 2 SECTION III DECLARING AN EMERGENCY THAT the immediate operation of the provisions of this Resolution is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace.health,or safety of the City of Apache Junction in light of the budgetary deadlines mandated by the State:and that an emergency is declared to exist:and that this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from its passage.adoption and approval by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache Junction.
