HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 03-27RESOLUTION NO.03-27 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION. ARIZONA,AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF A GRANT TO THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN ITS FISCAL YEAR 2004 LOCAL TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE FUND II PROGRAM. WHEREAS,The City of Apache Junction is desirous of meeting the transportation needs of its citizens:and WHEREAS,Mesa Senior Services,Inc.,which manages the Apache Junction Senior Center.has requested assistance from the City in meeting the transportation needs of senior citizens residing within the City limits:and WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction sponsors many recreational programs for its citizens and visitors:and WHEREAS,pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes Section 28-8101,et seq..the Arizona Department of Transportation is administering the Local Transportation Assistance Fund (hereinafter "LTAF")II Program:and WHEREAS.the activities within this grant address identified community needs:and WHEREAS,a grantee of LTAF I I funds is required to comply with the program guidelines and federal statutes and regulations. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1)- the Mayor and City Council of the City of Apache Junction authorize application to be made to the State of Arizona,Department of Transportation for Fiscal Year 2004 LTAF II funds: 2)the City Manager i s authorized to sign an application for receipt and use of these funds ($21,765)for Mesa Senior Services.Inc.for transportation assistance for the Apache Junction Senior Center: 3)the City Manager i s authorized to sign an application for receipt and use of these funds ($22.400)for the purchase of a 12 passenger van to be used by the City of Apache Junction for transporting the general public to City sponsored events:and RESOLUTION NO.03-27 PAGE 1 OF 2 4) the City Manager or his designee.is authorized to take all actions necessary to implement and complete the activities submitted in said grant: 5)this application for State LTAF II funds meets the program requirements for the transportation of senior citizens,persons with disabilities and/or the general public;and 6)the City of Apache Junction shall comply with all LTAF II guidelines, federal statues and regulations applicable to the LTAF II Program.
