A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT
CASE GPA-1-04,A CITY -INITIATED TEXT AMENDMENT ADDING AN
ADDITIONAL OBJECTIVE AND A COMMON PRACTICE OR OPPORTUNITY
TO CHAPTER I I GENERAL PLAN ELEMENTS,SUBSECTION C.PUBLIC
SERVICES AND FACILITIES,GOAL #3 OF THE 1999 CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION GENERAL PLAN.
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council,on November 2,1999,adopted
the City of Apache Junction General Plan;and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council understand that planning for
sufficient waste water removal systems will enable and promote future
development;and
WHEREAS,the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing
regarding the proposed General Plan Text Amendment under GPA-1-04 on
November 22,2005,and recommended approval by a vote of 4 to 0 to 1
(Chairwoman Richmond abstaining,Commissioner Mandell absent);and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council have complied with the
requirements for the preparation and adoption of a General Plan
Amendment pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated Section 9-
461.06:and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council find that the proposed text
amendment is necessary to ensure active and continuous waste water
system planning.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THAT:
1)Case GPA-1-04,a City -initiated General Plan Text Amendment
amending the 1999 City of Apache Junction General Plan,
Chapter II.General Plan Elements,Subsection C.Public
Services and Facilities,Goal #3,for the purpose of adding an
additional objective is approved and adopted to read as
follows:

Meet the existing and future waste water needs of the
community with a well -planned and efficiently operated
waste water removal system:
•Coordinates planning efforts with the Superstition
Mountains Community Facilities District Number #1
to ensure implementation of the 2005 Waste Water
Master Plan.
•Continue to evaluate,monitor and report community
growth -related policies and programs to ensure an
orderly development of the waste water collection
system.
•Continue to update the Waste Water Master Plan on
an annual basis or as required.
2)Case GPA-1-04,a City -initiated General Plan Text Amendment
amending the 1999 City of Apache Junction General Plan,
Chapter II.General Plan Elements,Subsection C.Public
Services and Facilities,Goal #3,for the purpose of adding an
additional common practice and opportunity is approved and
adopted to read as follows:
Common practice or opportunity:
•The Development Services Director or his or her
designee will report to City Council on the waste
water master planning process on a annual basis or
when significant changes in development -related
policies and programs alter the recommendations or
data provided in the 2005 Waste Water Master Plan.
