HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 09-40RESOLUTION NO. 09-40 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,ACCEPTING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION AND THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE DESIGN AND RECONSTRUCTION OF IRONWOOD DRIVE FROM 16TH AVENUE TO U.S.60;AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING STAFF TO TAKE ALL STEPS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION. WHEREAS, Governments Governments $2,000,000.00 improvements; WHEREAS, federal funding through Maricopa Association of (—MAG")and Central Arizona Association of (—CAAG")in the amount of approximately is available to cities and towns for infrastructure and Ironwood Drive between 16 th Avenue and U.S.60 qualifies for such improvements; and WHEREAS,the City desires to apply for such funding to improve the above -noted right-of-way and as a requirement of the grant will match $700,000.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS: 1)That an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Apache Junction and the Arizona Department of Transportation is hereby accepted and the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement. 2)The City Manager or his designee is authorized and directed to take all steps necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution. 3)The City of Apache Junction shall comply guidelines,federal statutes and regulations the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Law 101-336, 42 U.S.C. §§ 12101-12213). with all Act applicable to of 2009(Public 4)The City shall pay its matching portion of the grant in the amount of $700,000.00.
