HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 19-02 RESOLUTION NO. 19-02 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, APPROVING THE ADDITION OF PARCEL NUMBERS 104-07-001B, 104-07-001C, AND 104-07-001D, INTO THE SUPERSTITION FIRE AND MEDICAL DISTRICT. WHEREAS, a property owner whose property is located within the City of Apache Junction, Arizona ("City") , has filed an application with the Superstition Fire and Medical District ("SFMD" or "district") to allow its property to be added into the district' s service area (attached hereto as Exhibit A) ; and WHEREAS, the property described and depicted in Exhibit A is contiguous to current district boundaries; and WHEREAS, SFMD has indicated to city staff the addition of said real property into its district boundaries will benefit the district and property owner; and WHEREAS, the property owner in 2018 filed with the city a rezoning on the noted parcels in order to build a 200+ unit residential subdivision; and WHEREAS, the parcels are not currently being served by any other fire service entity; and WHEREAS, there is a need for such services for this future residential development; and WHEREAS, pursuant to A.R. S. § 48-262 (1) , a city shall adopt a resolution approving any addition of real property into a fire district' s boundaries in order to effectuate such addition® NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that, pursuant to A.R. S. § 48- 262 (1) , the Apache Junction City Council hereby determines the inclusion of the above-noted parcels will benefit the district and property owner.
